Gecko Villa is situated in the Northeast of Thailand, close to the north Shore of Nong Han Lake, approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Udon Thani.Between the three small rural villages, Gecko Villa nestles with its private swimming pool, amongst the paddy fields in the Isaan plateau of Northeast Thailand. This stand alone, 3 bedrooms Thailand villa getaway is exclusively yours during your stay, and is fully catered and serviced. It enjoys a privileged position upon its own grounds, comprising 20 hectares of gardens, orchards, woodlands, pastures and rice paddies. In the rural heartlands of Thailand you can relax amongst the emerald green paddy fields, and savour the forgotten rhythms of country life. You can choose tranquillity and complete privacy, making this unique spacious Villa your own. We do all we can to assist the local Nam Thieng primary school, which provides education to around 165 of the local villagers' children between the ages of approximately 4-13 years. The school has started to earn a name for itself as a guardian of Isaan traditions and practices, and has often put on exhibitions in other areas of the kingdom. We have planted an additional 8 acres with a variety of trees. This woodland protection and tree planting is funded with proceeds from our guests' stays at the property. We are also proud that through the experience of helping to operate Gecko Villa, a number of villagers can now afford better schooling for their children, whilst others have secured employment in international hotel groups.

A perfect place for the nature & peace lover who want to stay away from the hectic life style of the modern world. Gecko Villa is set in over 60,000sqm of private grounds, with a walled garden, fish ponds, and orchards where we grow a large variety of mango, banana, passion fruit and other plants including chilies, papaya, galangal, Thai basil, lemongrass, herbs and more. The large air-conditioned living & dining room offers satellite TV (BBC, CNN, TV5 etc.), a DVD/CD player and sound system, and a selection of DVD films and books. Water hyacinth sofas and armchairs with comfortable cushions, as well as cotton futons, offer plenty of space to relax in comfort, whilst the large indoor dining table is just the place to enjoy indoor meals and conversations.The villa was designed, constructed and fitted out by us - hopefully in a way that not only reflects local traditions and craftsmanship but also ensures our guests an enticing and comfortable base in which to relax, or out of which to explore our surroundings. We are very aware that the success of this endeavour relies fully upon ensuring that your stay is relaxing, interesting and fun!
