Catering to the eco-friendly backpacker, Bulungula is a vibrant traditional community set in the middle of beaches, forests, lagoons and rolling hills. Owned partially by Nqileni villagers, Bulungula is a quaint lodging attraction that offers a variety of activities and services, like the famous Indian head massages, horseback riding, and kayaking in the nearby beach area. The accommodation provides for 10 huts positioned on both sea and forests views.

The accommodations in Bulungula run on solar panels for all ten huts. The architecture was designed to maximize the area of the rooms for efficient views of sea and forest. The toilet areas are equipped with rocket showers and odourless compost toilets for sustainable development of wastes gathered by guests. The lodge has been very much involved in community involvement issues across the area by providing for education opportunities for local kids, starting-up business for village women and launching projects on infrastructure as well.
