Set in a cove with a backdrop of sharp searing limestone cliffs basked in the heat of the Philippine sun, the Miniloc Island Resort in Palawan is a quaint reminisce of a coastal village embraced by crystal clear waters with bountiful arrays of tropical fishes. Guests are invited to surround themselves with a number of different activities that would suit the likings of the intrepid traveller like a snorkelling escapade with a dozen of groupers and a variety of fishes. Also, one can visit the surrounding semi-deciduous forest, most of which are over hundreds of meters above the sea. The scenic landscapes of the El Nido cliffs make a perfect background for a stay in “paradise on Earth”.

Green Comment:

The El Nido Resort – Miniloc has put into practice a lot of green advocacies many resorts in the Philippines have yet to establish. One of the highlights of such a move would be their usage of Compact Flourescent Lighting (CFL) in 2008. Guest rooms are provided with solar panels. Every full moon during the summer months of March to May, the resort also celebrates eco-hour, saving 1-hour electricity shutdown. The savings from this event would be used to purchase seedlings from a carbon offsetting program, to be planted in the El Nido watershed. In addition to this, on the sustainable tourism aspect, guests are not allowed to jetski or go into any motorized marine sport activity so as not to damage the immediate environment of fishes and other sea creatures.

El Nido Palawan Miniloc Island Resort is located in Palawan, in the region of Cebu of Philippines . This specific country was able, despite the difficulties arising from its economic model, to set up effective ecological action . Palawan more precisely is recognized as an active and innovative city for the preservation of its urban environment .
