El Nido is located at the northwestern tip of the province of Palawan in the Philippines. It is about 430 kilometers southwest of Manila, and about 238 kilometers northwest of Puerto Princesa, Palawan’s capital. El Nido is considered as a showcase of Palawan’s geology and diverse wildlife lifestyle. The majestic limestone cliffs stand guard over clear waters, with hundreds of species of tropical fishes and corals. El Nido’s forests are host to more than 100 species of birds, a large number of which are endemic to Palawan. The diverse wildlife of El Nido is the forests & greenery, particularly the lowland evergreen rainforests found in the mainland and islands. Other major types of natural forests in El Nido are semi-deciduous forests, forests over limestone, and beach forests. In addition, there are the mangrove forests found mostly around major rivers and creeks in the mainland, which gives a memorable and green lush view of the nature .El Nido is considered as a showcase of Palawan’s geology and diverse wildlife. El Nido Lagen Island Resort is a beautiful place surroundings with the forest that gives a beautiful, green, eco friendly and pollution free environment for the traveler’s. The Lagen Island Resort has a total of 51 rooms. There are water cottages built on stilts on both sides of its cove, the Beachfront Cottages gives a view of the entire cove and of the sunset, Forest Rooms and Forest Suites built on the fringes of a tropical forest. All cottages, rooms and suites have floors made of antique wood, furnishing made of old wood from old Filipino houses and a full-height sliding glass doors that open up to a private verandah. Each cottage, room and suite is air-conditioned and has a private toilet and shower with bath amenities and a hair dryer, a mini-bar, stereo system with CD player, and IDD telephone. We are supporting the diverse wildlife of El Nido are the forests, particularly the lowland evergreen rainforests found in the mainland and islands such as Miniloc, Lagen and Pangulasian. Other major types of natural forests in El Nido are semi-deciduous forests, forests over limestone, and beach forests. In addition, there are the mangrove forests found mostly around major rivers and creeks in the mainland. El Nido are the delicate yet hardy plants that grow between the cracks and crevices of the limestone cliffs. These plants flourish despite the harsh conditions of little water and limited soil, occasional saltwater sprays and exposure to direct sunlight. The lush mangrove forests are found in certain areas of El Nido. The Mangroves have dynamic ecosystems which constitute the perfect sanctuary for birds, fishes, and hundreds of other life forms.
