Located at the edge of the Meru National Park in the Bisandi National Reserve, Offbeat Safaris pride themselves on providing guests with an exclusive experience in remote wildlife areas. The only camp in the area which is permitted, the Meru Camp is home to a horde of wildlife including the reticulated giraffe, oryx and the gerenuk. Amazingly the park is home to thirteen rivers flowing inland, making it more desirable for the birdlife to flock in this area.

Green Comment:

Sustainably, the camp comprises of only six tents, each with its own bed, en-suite bathroom and traditional showers to decrease the level of electricity required. In addition to this, the camp utilizes its 24 hour solar lighting in tents while the rest of the camp is being lit up by “tilly” lamps. At some occasion, campfires would provide for informal dining as well as time for relaxation with friends and family alike. Adjacent to this is a spacious living room tent with sofas, tables and bars. You can enjoy the activities include day and evening game drives; walking safaris with armed guides; bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners; fly fishing in the local rivers. This area of Kenya gets quite hot during the dry season. After an active morning in the bush there's no better feeling than coming back to camp and cooling off in the stunning infinity swimming pool watching the wildlife as it comes to drink from the Bisanadi River below you.

Offbeat Safaris Ltd is situated in Nairobi, in the region of Nairobi Area of Kenya . This country, relative to its size, cannot claim yet to be a leader in sustainable developement. But this country is progressively filling his lack of investment in this domain . Nairobi more specifically is a city whose population is engaged in the defense and protection of its environment. The issue of sustainable tourism is therefore fundamental .
