Set in an expanse of 2.5 hectares of spices and coconuts, the Haritha is found on a hilly area of land facing paddy fields and a small hillock. Plants of different variety, including coconut, pineapple and bananas have grown in the area to be used for the different vegetarian dishes in the farm. With tours starting in 1995 for day trips to the farm to have a sampling of the vegetarian dishes, the farm has now expanded to take in lodgers who would wish to know more about having a homestead forest garden and how to develop a green thumb initiative in their own homes.

The Haritha Farm ensures that the offered variety of food choices is healthy, tasty and vegetarian. No chemicals and fertilizers would be used for growing the vegetables. In addition to that, solar power is used for water heating and bio-gas is used for the house kitchen whenever meals are cooked and prepared. Energy efficient wooden stoves and drying equipment are used, as well as low wattage bright lights inside rooms and common areas.
