One of the last few places in the world where large mammals can still roam freely on the beach, the Tassi Savannah Camp in Loanga National Park plays host to the friendly hippos swimming in the surf, buffalos and forest elephants grazing on the beaches and coastal grasslands. One can even occasionally see from the camp a family of gorillas foraging in the trees alongside the beach! The wide-open vistas of the camp gives it an “Africa feel” but with the hint of ocean breeze and heat from the savannah.

Guests and nature lovers would have a frenzy in Camp Tassi because of the offerings of kayaking, bird watching and excursions to the immediate environment of the camp – the forest, savannah patches, the coastal lagoons and swamps. The camp offers local employment to the inhabitants in the area and has been giving constant instruction on the camp’s green processes. Profits generated by Camp Tassi will also be reinvested in the areas (and adjacent parks) to ensure continuity and economical sustainability of its wildlife conservation.
