Nestled on the hills just above Teahupoo’s world-renowned surf breaks, the Vanira Lodge’s bungalows attract budget-savvy surfers with its simple meals, daybeds and prime location. The lodge has four gorgeous bungalows for guests including a “fare pote’e” (reception area) that is a beautiful area to lounge about and relax while hearing the rumbling sounds of the sea. A swimming pool is also found in the lodge’s facilities for those who would want to have a calmer substitute to the Pacific’s big ocean currents.

The structure of the lodge is note-worthy since it is mostly made up of natural Polynesian materials of wood and stone. Since it is nestled on a mountain top, the need for ventilation is at a minimum since the wind flows through the different thatched houses in the facility. The Lodge employs locals into its staff pool, thus providing employment and livelihood opportunities for local inhabitants in the area. Also worth noting is its responsible garden management, use of local food in preparation for meals and eco-friendly modern design.
