The Desert Lodge enjoys a splendid view, overlooking the Heritage-protected oasis of Al Qasr and the distant sand dunes and mountains of the Sahara desert. It is built in traditional architectural style and is one of the few eco-designed Hotels in Egypt. The Lodge has 32 large rooms, tastefully furnished in the local style; all have high ceilings and are equipped with a fan. Most of the terraces have spectacular views either over the village or to the nearby mountain range. The Lodge is conveniently located, enabling easy access and discovery of the surrounding areas. You can view the fantastic and unspoiled nature, authentic villages, lush vegetation and some spectacular archaeological sites from the Pharaonic, Roman, Christian and Islamic periods. We will gladly help you to organise your time: we have mountain bicycles for rent; guided hikes; excursions into the desert by 4x4 vehicles; camel trips.

The Desert Lodge is a one of the Ecological Hotel in Egypt. The hotel is environmentally friendly as the lodge use solar power for hot water, plus the tap water is filtered and given to guests. Regarding the community, the lodge is involved on education projects, for instance 3% of the hotel's revenue goes to local environment and school projects. The hotel has its own garden and organic farm filled mostly with mulberry trees, date palms, figs, apricots and citrus fruits thus the hotel offers local products to its guests. Last but to not at least, the hotel employs local guides, local porters and local camel drivers.
