Chalalán is buried in the vast swathe of the wildlife-rich Madidi national park. The knowledgeable guides and themed nature trails encourage you to learn about wildlife behaviour and the medicinal qualities of the plants. The low-impact, wood and palm cabins are simple and rustic, but perfectly comfortable. This Ecolodge built on the shores of the magnificent Chalalán Lagoon. We designed the Ecolodge to blend in with its environment using old building techniques and environmentally friendly local materials. We paid attention to every little detail so that your adventure with us would be as comfortable as possible, making it a place for you to relax and enjoy the warm breeze, the sounds of nature and our delicious home cooking. More than being an eco friendly lodge that has received accolades from the likes of the National Geographic Society, the Chalalan Ecolodge provided the local community the headstart in making a social enterprise that is financially viable and at the same time ecologically sustainable. Wholly owned and operated by the community, this lodge has catered to the local community by assisting in-house tour operators, business promotions in the area near the lodge and even provide local employment for those within the area that had worked on hunting and logging. Providing a background for local young adults to be imbued with hospitality management lessons as well as providing livelihood for local crop farmers for fresh produce to be used in the hotel, the Chalalan Ecolodge pumps up the economy and the social standing of the local community.
